Strawberry and lemon cheese ready to start off in China

Strawberry or lemon-flavoured cheese sounds strange and not really tasty to us. But that's not the case everywhere: in China, we recently started selling strawberry and lemon cheese sticks under swissmooh brand and the initial sales results are positive: kids love the pink colour of the strawberry cheese and the general customer feedback is also very positive in terms of taste. Nevertheless, the question arises as to how the idea of producing cheese with these flavours came about in the first place.

Adaptation to the target market

In China, there is no cheese history like in Switzerland, which means that the population has not learnt the taste of cheese. As a result, many Chinese people don't like the taste or smell of cheese - similar like soy sauce is for us. In order to be able to sell cheese on the Chinese market, it has to fulfil the needs of the consumer. Flavour and smell play a role here, as does the production process. In the premium segment, where we operate, the Chinese attach great importance to natural products. With our strawberry and lemon cheese, we have developed the first natural cheese with flavour for the Chinese market. The time-consuming and lengthy development process in Switzerland has already paid off: the cheese is unique in China and the initial results are very positive!
